Top Jesuit Universities

A school’s history and founding philosophy may still play a role in their admissions process. Boston College, Loyola Marymount
University, and Villanova are all top schools that were founded by the Jesuits, a religious order within the Catholic Church. The Jesuits
were notable intellectual ethical thinkers and by founding schools they hoped to educate students to use their talents to help others.

Though these schools are now attended by secular students and students of all faiths, their heritage has shaped the school mission
statement. Thus, their supplemental questions often ask applicants to reflect on their values and how they might align with the Jesuit’s
ethical commitments.
