Our Psychology Summer School
The Psychologist Summer Experience is a unique immersion into a career in psychology, designed for ambitious students aged 15–18.
During the psychology summer school, you will:
– Conduct simulated patient consultations with the help of clinical psychologists
– Act as a forensic psychologist in a mock criminal trial
– Visit a professional sports venue and learn about the techniques elite athletes use
– Experience life on a simulated in-patient mental health ward
You’ll be taught by experienced psychologists and receive career coaching on university choices and ways into the industry.

With a minimum of 25 hours of contact time per week with professionals, you’ll undergo an intensive crash-course in the fundamentals of psychology. You have the option to gain a UCAS-accredited qualification on completing the course. This will provide you with UCAS points to support your application to university.

Iro is a Senior Teaching Fellow at Imperial College London with a background in Cognitive Neuropsychology and Behavioural Neuroscience. Her research focuses on Education Development.

Jessica is a Business Psychologist with over 13 years’ experience in the public and private sector. She is the founder and managing director of Equalital. She completed her psychology and Counselling degree at the University of Roehampton, and then went on to study Occupational and Organisational Psychology at the University of Surrey.

Jodine is a Chartered Sports and Exercise Psychologist. She currently runs her own private practice, Mind Advantage, where she supports athletes to reach their goals. She also works as a Physical Activity Manager at Versus Arthritis. Previous roles include working as a Diversity and Inclusion Advisor at England Korfball and managing the Mental Health Project at Watford FC.

What Will I Learn?
On our psychology summer school, you’ll receive an incredible induction into different disciplines in psychology – through simulated consultations and ward rounds, visits to cutting-edge professional venues, and coaching from seasoned psychologists.
Explore how psychologists support children and young people facing challenges in education. You’ll assess case studies, practise parent consultations, and develop the communication skills needed to build trust with families and young people.
Learn how clinical psychologists assess patients, build rapport, and plan treatment. You’ll explore techniques including CBT, active listening, and personalised care through simulated consultations and treatment-planning exercises.
Discover how psychologists help athletes manage pressure, improve focus, and build resilience. You’ll visit a professional sports venue, explore match-day preparation, and hear directly from an athlete about the psychological demands of high performance.
Examine how psychology is applied in criminal justice settings. You’ll assess offender behaviour, act as an expert witness in a mock trial, and explore rehabilitation through prison therapy and parole decision-making exercises.
Explore how psychologists work within multidisciplinary mental health teams. You’ll experience simulated ward round, develop crisis plans, and examine different therapeutic approaches, including art, drama, and movement.

After graduation, every student can earn a personalised digital certificate recognising their achievement to use on their UCAS applications.
Students who attend a 2-Week Summer Experience will also receive an industry reference letter, signed by professionals, outlining what they have achieved over the course of the programme.
We can also be included in the UCAS extra activities section, and we are an approved provider for the Gold Residential section of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
Earn UCAS Points for Your University Application
Students who complete the 2-Week or 2-Week Enhanced programme will have the chance to earn a Level 3 Work Experience qualification, worth 8 UCAS points – a boost for UK university applications.

You need to have a minimum English level of B2 (intermediate) to attend this course.
Yes. About half of our students attend as day students. The programme content is exactly the same for day and residential attendees.
We do not have an application process. Bookings for our psychology summer school are taken on a first come, first served basis.
No. We do not expect any of our students to have any prior knowledge, simply a keen interest in psychology!
We introduce each topic at an introductory level, with guidance from our industry professionals. There are also opportunities to work towards more advanced concepts where students feel comfortable.
Absolutely. Around half of our students are from the UK or US, with the other half from other countries around the world. We have welcomed students from 100 nationalities and are proud to have a global student community.
