Economics A Level Tutors

I am an Economics tutor with more than 20 years of teaching experience in the UK and internationally. I have taught A Level Economics throughout my career and currently teach GCSE and A Level Business and Economics at LVS Ascot. I have also held senior leadership roles including Head of Economics and Business Studies, Head of Business and Economics, and Curriculum Director of Business and Economics. I have more than 15 years of experience as an Edexcel A Level Economics examiner and Team Leader. This gives me a detailed understanding of assessment objectives, mark schemes and the standard of analysis and evaluation required to achieve higher grades. I use this experience to help students improve their essay structure, examination technique and ability to apply economic theory effectively. I hold a BSc (Hons) in Economics from the University of Warwick and a PGCE in Secondary 14–19 Business and Economics Education with Qualified Teacher Status from the University of London’s Institute of Education. I have successfully supported students to exceed their target grades and gain places at leading universities. My lessons are structured, engaging and tailored to each learner. I break complex economic concepts into clear, manageable steps and use real-world examples to develop understanding, confidence and independent thinking. Alongside A Level Economics, I have experience teaching Economics at IGCSE and IB, as well as Business at GCSE, IGCSE, A Level and IB. I have also taught BTEC Business and International Foundation Programme qualifications and supported students with UCAS personal statements. I have experience supporting students with EAL, SEND and dyslexia. I have taught at DLD College London, Priors Field School, Reach Academy and RMS for Girls.

I am an A Level Economics tutor with experience teaching across all major exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel, OCR and Cambridge. I currently teach A Level Economics and IB Economics, as well as International A Level Business. I have also taught IB Economics at an independent international school in Athens, through UK tutoring platforms and on international Economics revision courses with Oxford Study Courses. My academic background includes an MA in Economics and Management from the University of Oxford, an MPhil in European Politics, Economics and Society from the University of Oxford, and a PhD in European Politics and International Relations from the University of Athens. My interdisciplinary experience in Economics, Politics and Business helps me give students a practical understanding of economic theory and show how different concepts connect. I simplify difficult terminology and ideas using clear, everyday examples, helping students understand topics that may initially feel overwhelming. My teaching is approachable and detailed, with a strong focus on repetition, precision and exam technique. I aim to build each student’s confidence and help them express economic arguments accurately and effectively in their examinations. Alongside Economics, I teach International A Level Business and Politics across Pearson and AQA. I also spent two years as a university lecturer at the University of Thrace, where I taught Government and Politics. For the past 20 years, I have worked as an educator, mentor and coach in director, management and team leadership roles, supporting young research analysts in NGOs and consultancies.

I am an experienced tutor with an academic and professional background in Economics, Mathematical Economics and corporate finance. I tutor A Level Economics and also lecture at a London business school across a range of disciplines, including Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics and Marketing. My experience allows me to connect economic theory with practical examples from business and financial markets, helping students understand how concepts apply beyond the classroom. I hold an MA (Hons) in Mathematical Economics from the University of Essex and a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of East Anglia. Before entering academia, I spent 30 years working in the City as an Executive Director. My leadership experience has included working as a public company director, lecturer, mentor and coach. I now manage my family’s funds alongside my teaching and tutoring work. My approach combines education and coaching. I aim to help students understand challenging concepts, build confidence and achieve the highest standard they are capable of. I use leadership, training, mentoring and teaching techniques to support students in working towards their academic goals. Alongside A Level Economics, I tutor A Level Business Studies, Mathematics and Sociology, as well as GCSE Business Studies, Mathematics and English. I also provide Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 curriculum support and teach both Foundation and Higher Mathematics up to GCSE. I am passionate about helping students develop confidence in their abilities and a genuine enjoyment of learning, particularly in Mathematics and Economics.

I enjoy motivating, developing life skills and instilling confidence in young people. Education is the lifeblood of a successful life and teaching children how to learn is a key stepping-stone to happiness, confidence and success in life.

I have worked in education, within both the state and private systems, for over 15 years. I have taught and examined on GCSE and A Level Business and Economics qualifications for a number of years and I lecture part-time at Exeter University.

I have a passion for 1-1 tuition and a love of my subjects. I have many years of teaching experience and have helped countless students achieve top grades in Business & Economics.
