Cambridge life – from morning to evening
A Day at Dukes Cambridge
A taste of university-style study – you’ll study in seminars or collaborate on a research project during the day, before enjoying an evening on campus, with societies and whole-school activities to take part in.
7:30am: Wake up and breakfast. Get the day off to a great start before heading to morning assembly.
9am: Academic Programme. Learn in small seminar groups of no more than 15 students.
10:45am: Time to Shine. Collaborate with your peers on researching, designing, and creating a fascinating group project related to your subject.
12:15pm: Lunch. Enjoy a nutritious meal to fuel you for an afternoon of study and discovery
1:45pm: Fieldwork / Industry Experience. Take your learning out of the classroom – with fieldwork, a guided visit, or an industry simulation across Cambridge.
4:30pm: Free Time. Unwind back on campus, or explore the historic city of Cambridge.
6pm: Dinner. Re-assemble as a whole school to enjoy an evening meal, followed by Evening Assembly.
7:15pm: Societies or Campus Evening. Everyone comes together to take part in university-style societies or whole-school events.
Modern, Comfortable Accommodation
At our summer school in Cambridge, students are allocated to one of six purpose-built accommodation blocks, each offering modern facilities and a welcoming atmosphere. All residences are just a short walk from the school, with bedrooms available as either single or twin rooms.
Most rooms feature ensuite bathrooms, while a few smaller blocks include shared facilities. During free time, students can relax and socialise in on-site common rooms or take the opportunity to explore the vibrant city centre of Cambridge.

The teaching for our summer schools in Cambridge takes place at one of the city’s most prestigious schools, Sancton Wood School.
Students live in modern, purpose-built accommodation a short walk from their lessons and the centre of the historic university city.
If you book a residential place, the price includes:

We currently offer six programmes at our summer schools in Cambridge. We have courses covering:

There is no formal deadline for applications, however, we give places on a first-come, first-served basis. We also employ a 10% limit on the number of students who speak the same language. This means that there is only a limited number of places for each course per native language. We therefore advise booking as soon as possible in order to guarantee your place.
Absolutely! We understand that there is lots to consider when making the decision to book one of our courses. Just fill in our enquiry form and a member of our dedicated admissions team will get back to you.
At Dukes Cambridge, the minimum level of English language required is intermediate (B1+) or above.
Before the summer, we send an online test for students to complete. We will use the results to confirm their suitability for the course. In the case that a student does not meet the required level on the test, we will conduct an academic consultation to assess the next best step.

Student safety and wellbeing are our highest priorities on our Cambridge summer schools, which is why we maintain a high staff-to-student ratio throughout the summer. Each campus has a dedicated manager overseeing student welfare, safeguarding, and pastoral care.
Our College Mentors provide day-to-day support and are always available to help students with any questions or concerns. All staff complete safeguarding training before the summer, and every campus has designated first aiders.
Our friendly, experienced team is available 24 hours a day, ensuring students feel safe, comfortable, and well supported throughout their stay.
During excursions and local visits, students with parental consent may enjoy up to two hours of free time, provided they remain in groups of at least three. Staff will explain the designated meeting point and time, with a team member stationed at a fixed location should students need assistance.
With parental permission, students may also sign out of campus during designated free-time periods for up to two hours, allowing them to travel independently between their accommodation and Santon Wood School.
All students must carry their SBC Gold Card when off-site. This includes an emergency contact number, ensuring they can reach our team if they become separated from their group or need support.
