FAQs

The UCAT (University Clinical Aptitude Test) is a standardised test used by many medical schools in the UK and abroad to assess cognitive abilities, attitudes, and professional behaviours critical for medical and dental courses. It is a key component of your application alongside academic qualifications (e.g. A Level results), the personal statement, and interviews.

We advise you begin preparing 3-6 months before your test date. This allows ample time to understand the test format, practise regularly, and identify areas for improvement. It also enables you to improve your confidence and speed.

We offer a range of UCAT preparation services, including online courses, our UCAT question bank, and 1-1 tutoring.

No prior medical knowledge is required. This does not mean that there is nothing you can do to prepare, however.  The UCAT tests your cognitive aptitude and judgement. There are five sections to the UCAT: verbal reasoning, decision making, quantitative reasoning, abstract reasoning, and situational judgement. Familiarity with the test format and thorough preparation and practice are essential for achieving a competitive score.
