I am an experienced Mathematics teacher and full-time tutor, supporting students from KS1 through to A Level. I hold a First-Class MEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sheffield and a PGCE in Mathematics from King’s College London. My classroom experience includes teaching Mathematics at KS3, GCSE and A Level, while my tutoring work has given me extensive experience adapting lessons to students with a wide range of abilities and academic goals. I have a strong track record of preparing students for GCSE Mathematics, helping them consolidate their subject knowledge, improve their problem-solving skills and approach examinations with greater confidence. My GCSE students have consistently exceeded their predicted grades, with pupils achieving the highest possible grade of 9. I support students across all areas of the curriculum, including algebra, geometry, probability, statistics and number, while placing particular emphasis on mathematical reasoning, accurate working and effective exam technique. My approach is calm, supportive and highly personalised. I carefully identify each student’s strengths and areas for development before creating a structured programme tailored to their needs. For students who lack confidence, I break challenging concepts into clear, manageable steps and provide regular opportunities to practise and consolidate their understanding. For high-achieving students, I introduce greater depth and challenge, encouraging them to apply their knowledge to unfamiliar and more demanding problems. Alongside GCSE tuition, I teach Mathematics at KS2, KS3 and A Level, with previous students achieving A* grades at A Level. I also specialise in 11+, 13+, Common Entrance and non-verbal reasoning preparation. I have successfully supported pupils in gaining places at highly competitive selective and independent schools, including St Paul’s, North London Collegiate School, Haberdashers’ Boys’ and Girls’ Schools, Highgate, St Albans, University College School, Queen Elizabeth’s School, Merchant Taylors’, Latymer Upper and City of London School. In addition to one-to-one tuition, I have worked with Dukes Tutoring since 2016 as an academic tutor and workshop leader. I also undertake a senior tutoring role, leading examination preparation courses, workshops and mock examinations. Whether a student is aiming to secure their target GCSE grade, reach grades 8 or 9, or rebuild their confidence in Mathematics, I aim to provide the clear explanations, structured practice and individual support they need to fulfil their potential.

I specialise in tutoring Maths to GCSE and A Level students. I am passionate about my subject and have many years’ experience building childrens’ confidence and helping them achieve their potential.

I tutor all three sciences for students aged 11 to 18. I have extensive experience teaching Science at GCSE, A Level and the International Baccalaureate (IB). I am a firm believer in the benefits of 1-1 tuition. I hold a BSc from the University of Warwick in Physics, a PGCE from the University of Leeds, and an MSc from the University of Oxford in Teaching and Learning.

I am a qualified teacher and have taught in state and independent secondary schools in London. I tutor Biology and Chemistry at GCSE, A level, and IB. I hold a BSc in Biochemistry from Newcastle University, and MRes in Chemical Research from UCL and Birbeck, University of London, a PGCE in Chemistry from KCL, and a PhD in Cardiovascular Biochemistry and Medicine from KCL. After completing my PGCE, I taught in a variety of secondary schools across London, working in both the state and independent sectors. I have since developed extensive experience teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students at King’s College London, while completing a PhD in Cardiovascular Biochemistry. Alongside my academic work, I remain committed to tutoring Biology and Chemistry at GCSE, A-level and International Baccalaureate level. I also support students preparing for university admissions tests and interviews.

I am a highly experienced GCSE Religious Studies and Politics tutor. I studied Theology, Religion and Philosophy of Religion at Clare College, University of Cambridge and completed two elective terms of Business Management Studies at Judge Business School, Cambridge. I have successfully tutored a wide range of students who received top grades at GCSE.

I am an experienced English tutor and teacher with eight years of experience working in a range of international educational settings. Most recently, I served as Head of English at a leading international school, where I developed an engaging, accessible approach that helps students build confidence and achieve their academic goals. I have extensive experience teaching GCSE English Language and English Literature, supporting students across a wide range of abilities and learning needs. I help pupils strengthen their analytical writing, comprehension, creative and transactional writing, and exam technique, while developing the confidence to respond independently to unfamiliar texts and challenging questions. My experience includes working with students who require SEN or EAL support, enabling me to adapt lessons carefully and provide clear, structured guidance. I also support students preparing for school entrance examinations. Alongside my GCSE tutoring, I have taught English Language and Literature at A Level and within the IB curriculum. I have also worked as a sixth-form tutor, helping students prepare for university and navigate the application process. I hold a PGCE in Secondary English from the University of Plymouth, a Postgraduate Diploma in English Literature from the Open University, and a BA (Hons) in English Literature and Sociology from the University of Exeter. I am passionate about English and committed to helping every student improve their results, recognise their potential, and develop a genuine enjoyment of the subject.

I am an experienced English tutor, teacher and former Head of English with nearly 20 years’ experience in education. I have also spent more than a decade working at managerial and directorial level in international schools, giving me a strong understanding of the academic standards, curriculum demands and pastoral support students need to succeed. I have extensive experience teaching GCSE English Language and English Literature, helping students develop the core skills required for strong examination performance. My teaching covers analytical reading, essay structure, creative and transactional writing, comparison skills, textual interpretation and effective exam technique. I work closely with each student to identify gaps in their knowledge, strengthen their written expression and build the confidence to approach demanding questions independently. As a former Head of English, I understand how GCSE students are assessed and what distinguishes a secure response from a high-level one. I provide clear, thoughtful guidance while encouraging students to develop their own ideas and individual voice. My approach is holistic and student-centred, with equal emphasis on academic progress, confidence and enjoyment of the subject. Alongside GCSE tuition, I teach English Literature up to A Level and support students preparing for 13+ entrance examinations. My TESOL qualification also supports my work with students for whom English is an additional language. I studied French and German at undergraduate level, before completing my CELTA and Master’s in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. I have tutored ESOL, French and German since 2005. I have taught in both the UK and Germany, and also worked in content creation and as Head of Teacher Training and Quality Assurance at a language school in Cologne.

I am an experienced Business and Economics teacher, examiner and tutor with more than 20 years’ experience in UK and international education. Throughout my career, I have held a range of senior leadership positions, including Head of Business, Head of Business and Economics, Head of Economics and Business Studies, and Curriculum Director of Business and Economics. I have extensive experience teaching GCSE and IGCSE Business and Economics, helping students develop a secure understanding of key concepts while building the analytical, numerical and evaluative skills required for examination success. My lessons are carefully structured and tailored to each learner, with complex topics broken down into clear, manageable steps. I use current business and economic examples to make the subject relevant and engaging, while placing a strong emphasis on exam technique, command words, data-response questions and well-supported written evaluation. Alongside my teaching experience, I have worked as an Edexcel examiner for more than 15 years and as a Team Leader for A Level Economics. This gives me detailed insight into assessment objectives, mark schemes and the qualities examiners look for in high-scoring responses. I use this expertise to help students avoid common mistakes, write with greater precision and apply their knowledge effectively under timed conditions. In addition to GCSE and IGCSE, I teach Business and Economics at A Level and IB, as well as BTEC Business at Levels 2 and 3 and International Foundation Programme qualifications. I also support students with UCAS personal statements and university preparation. My students have consistently exceeded their target grades and progressed to leading universities. I have taught students with a wide range of abilities and educational backgrounds, including those requiring EAL, SEND and dyslexia support. My approach is patient, encouraging and student-centred, with a strong focus on developing confidence, independence and long-term academic skills. I am an experienced History teacher, tutor and school leader with 23 years’ experience, including 17 years as a Head of History. I have worked extensively across both the independent and state sectors and have also held senior leadership positions, including Head of Upper School and Head of School. I have substantial experience teaching GCSE History and am familiar with all the major examination boards, including AQA, Edexcel, OCR and Eduqas. Throughout my career, I have helped students achieve consistently strong examination outcomes. At Raynes Park High School, I raised GCSE History results from 46% to 64% A*–C, while at St Catherine’s School I achieved three consecutive years of 100% A*–B results at both GCSE and A Level. My GCSE teaching focuses on the skills students need to perform confidently in examinations, including source analysis, interpretation, causation, significance, comparison and extended essay writing. I help students understand how to construct a clear historical argument, select precise supporting evidence and respond effectively to the specific demands of each question and examination board. I believe History should be taught as a living, contested subject rather than as a list of dates to memorise. I encourage students to develop their own historical judgement through evidence, debate and wider reading. By placing each topic within its broader political, social and cultural context, I aim to make the subject engaging while helping students produce more sophisticated and well-supported answers. Alongside GCSE and A Level History, I teach History at KS3 and within the IB curriculum. I also have experience teaching Religious Studies and Sociology. Having worked at Hoe Bridge School, I am familiar with both Common Entrance and Scholarship examinations and understand the transition from preparatory education into senior school. I hold a BA (Hons) in History from the University of Northumbria, a PGCE from the University of Edinburgh and an MA in History from Anglia Ruskin University. I was also awarded a commendation by the General Teaching Council for Scotland, placing me within the top 7% of teachers nationally. I enjoy tailoring my teaching to the individual student, whether they need to consolidate core knowledge, improve their examination technique or develop the analytical sophistication required for the highest grades.
