English Language – Easter Course

Earlscliffe’s English Language programme develops all four key language skills — reading, writing, listening, and speaking — through engaging morning sessions. Students take part in grammar practice, comprehension exercises, and interactive language activities that build accuracy, fluency, and confidence.

Afternoon sessions are project-based and encourage creativity through a variety of mediums, including drama, music, film, arts and crafts, and debating for more advanced learners. These projects help students use English in imaginative and collaborative ways while developing communication and teamwork skills.

Day trips are closely linked to classroom learning, with students preparing for excursions through cultural and historical study. Afterwards, they complete follow-up writing tasks such as reviews and reflections, reinforcing vocabulary and understanding while bringing language learning to life.

Extra Intensive English

If you’re looking to extend and challenge your English Language skills this Easter, students can take advantage of our additional learning options.

For an additional weekly fee, students can choose between an extra four hours of English in small group lessons or personalised tuition through one-to-one sessions. These options offer extra focus and support to help you reach your individual language goals.

On-site sports and activities include table tennis, billiards, badminton, basketball, and volleyball. Students can also enjoy karaoke evenings, football, softball, swimming, themed disco nights, mini-golf, dry slope tobogganing, and quiz nights. Special highlights include our “Summer of Talent” performance show and “jeux sans frontières” team games. Regular beach walks are also a popular part of the weekly schedule.

After the day’s lessons conclude, sports and activities begin in the mid-afternoon, providing a perfect balance of recreation and relaxation. Each session is supervised by our experienced staff to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for every student.

Earlscliffe is ideally located near Folkestone’s town centre, offering easy access to local shops, the Creative Quarter, the beach, and the coastline — all of which provide wonderful opportunities for exploration, inspiration, and leisure.

Given the changeable weather at this time of year, our Easter programme features a blend of indoor and outdoor activities, along with more travel-based excursions than in the summer months.

The weekly excursion to London is a highlight of the Earlscliffe Easter programme. The journey takes just 54 minutes from the nearby Folkestone Central station, offering students the chance to explore the capital’s landmarks, museums, and cultural attractions under staff supervision.

On Sundays, students may also visit destinations such as Leeds Castle, Bluewater shopping centre, or the historic cathedral city of Canterbury. Other excursions might include a relaxing riverboat cruise. There is also some unstructured time for students to enjoy exploring in small groups, while juniors are always fully supervised by our team.
