Life on our Cambridge Summer Schools

Our social programme offers a range of exciting activities, including:

Our evening programme brings everyone together for themed events such as: Game Show Night, Graduation, Secret Cinema / Film Night, Speed Friending, Trashion Show

Over the course of the two-week programme, students will enjoy two exciting excursions. One of the highlights is a thrilling day trip to London, packed with iconic experiences and tailored activity options to suit all interests—whether that’s a guided walking tour of historic landmarks, a visit to the British Museum, or exploring world-class art at the National Gallery.

Each year, our London itinerary is refreshed to offer new and memorable ways to experience the capital. Every visit includes time to explore the city’s famous shopping districts, enjoy lunch in the heart of London, and take in the spectacular views from the London Eye.

The second excursion offers a more relaxed pace with a day of discovery in Cambridge. Students will delve deeper into the history and charm of their temporary home, with activities designed to unwind, reflect, and recharge after a stimulating academic week.

We proudly mark the end of each two-week summer course with a memorable graduation and awards ceremony—an inspiring occasion to reflect on personal and academic achievements, and to celebrate alongside new friends.

During the ceremony, every student receives a certificate of completion, along with a personalised report highlighting their accomplishments and offering tailored guidance for future success.

For many, graduation is the highlight of the programme. It’s a chance to dress up, enjoy the moment, and celebrate the incredible friendships and experiences that have made their summer unforgettable.

Modern, Comfortable Accommodation

At our Cambridge summer school, students are allocated to one of six purpose-built accommodation blocks, each offering modern facilities and a welcoming atmosphere. All residences are just a short walk from the school, with bedrooms available as either single or twin rooms.

Most rooms feature ensuite bathrooms, while a few smaller blocks include shared facilities. During free time, students can relax and socialise in on-site common rooms or take the opportunity to explore the vibrant city centre of Cambridge.

The Cambridge Summer School Experience

Take in the picturesque architecture and the verdant fens, and experience traditional punting on the River Cam. Students will be inspired by living and working in this beautiful historic seat of learning.

All of our Cambridge summer schools are suitable for ages 14-17.

The teaching for our Cambridge summer schools takes place at three of the city’s most prestigious schools:

  • Sancton Wood School
  • St Andrew’s Cambridge
  • Cardiff Sixth Form College, Cambridge

Students live in modern, purpose-built accommodation a short walk from their lessons and the centre of the historic university city.

The price includes:

  • Accommodation (residential)
  • Meals*
  • Tuition
  • Academic materials
  • General sports, social activities and events
  • All standard excursions including admission costs
  • Wi-Fi & weekly laundry services
  • Graduation certificate & an academic progress report
  • Travel insurance

*We will endeavour to meet all dietary requirements, e.g. vegetarian, vegan, Halal etc.

We currently offer four programmes at our Cambridge summer schools. We have courses covering:

There is no formal deadline for applications, however, we give places on a first-come, first-served basis. We also employ a 10% limit on the number of students who speak the same language. This means that there is only a limited number of places for each course per native language. Particularly with our smaller campuses, e.g. SBC at Eton College, this means that places can fill quickly. We, therefore, advise booking as soon as possible in order to guarantee your place.

At Cambridge College, the minimum level of English language required is intermediate (B1+) or above.

At SBC Canford and Headington Oxford Summer School, students from beginner level (A1+) through to fluent speakers enjoy learning in our supportive and immersive English environment.

Before the summer, we send an online test for students to complete. We will use the results to confirm their suitability for the course. In the case that a student does not meet the required level on the test, we will conduct an academic consultation to assess the next best step.
