With 25 hours of academic teaching per week, students will cover key topics – from criminal and contract law to the essentials of legal language and argumentation.

Course Modules

Explore the course content on our Oxford Law summer school.

In this introductory module, students will begin their exploration of the legal world.
They’ll uncover the core principles of legal systems, examine how laws are structured, and gain an understanding of key legal institutions. Through interactive discussions and practical case studies, students will explore the foundations of justice, ethics, and the role law plays in society. This module builds a solid base in legal thinking and prepares students for more in-depth study of the law.

Module 2 centres on criminal law and the pursuit of justice. Students will explore the fundamental elements of criminal offences, criminal procedures, and the roles of law enforcement and the judiciary. Through case analysis and mock trials, they’ll grapple with the challenges of the criminal justice system. The module also encourages critical thinking about the ethical dimensions of criminal law and examines how concepts of justice continue to evolve in today’s society.
