Time To Shine Projects

Put your learning into action through collaborative ‘Time To Shine’ projects. Working in groups, you’ll explore medical topics creatively and present your innovative ideas at the end-of-week showcase — a chance to demonstrate your knowledge and teamwork skills.

Develop English Language Skills

Throughout the programme, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to enhance your English, from expanding your scientific vocabulary to practising presentation skills for your Time To Shine project.

End-of-Course Report and Certificate

At the end of the programme, you’ll receive a personalised end-of-course report and a certificate of achievement. These reflect not just your attendance, but your progress, skills, and contributions throughout the course. Your report includes detailed tutor feedback highlighting your strengths and areas for further growth, while your certificate serves as formal recognition of your hard work and success — an excellent addition to future academic applications.

Lead a Clean Water and Sanitation Campaign

In the first week, students design and deliver a campaign focused on the importance of clean water and sanitation. After researching how unsafe water affects communities worldwide, they create posters, leaflets, and a short persuasive presentation explaining how clean water prevents disease and strengthens public health.

The project concludes with a live presentation before peers and tutors, as students launch their campaign as if addressing a real community audience.

Launch a Vaccination or Nutrition Awareness Campaign

In the second week, students create a campaign centred on either vaccines or nutrition. They use scientific evidence to explain how immunisation protects against preventable diseases or how balanced diets support long-term health. The campaign is shaped into a clear and compelling public message.

The project ends with a live presentation to peers and tutors, with students presenting their campaign as though unveiling it to the public for the first time.

Medical Knowledge

Build a solid foundation in medical science by studying anatomy, physiology, and the mechanisms of disease. You’ll explore how the body functions in both health and illness, preparing you to connect theoretical understanding with clinical application in future studies.

Practical Skills

Take part in structured clinical simulations that reflect authentic medical settings. From patient assessment and history-taking to first aid and diagnostic reasoning, you’ll start developing the essential skills that form the basis of professional medical practice.

Ethical Awareness

Examine the moral and ethical challenges that shape modern healthcare. You’ll discuss issues such as consent, confidentiality, resource allocation, and patient welfare, gaining a deeper understanding of the responsibilities inherent in the medical profession.

Collaboration and Communication

Experience the teamwork and communication central to effective healthcare. Through case studies, group projects, and peer discussions, you’ll learn to collaborate efficiently, communicate complex ideas clearly, and begin to think as part of a medical team.

In this module, you’ll start by discovering the incredible structures and systems that make up the human body. You’ll explore the major organs, understand how they function, and see how they work together to maintain health.
